Garnacho and Buendía, two “Spaniards” in Scaloni’s new Argentina list

The Argentine national team, world champion in Qatar, has given its first post-World Cup list. A list of Lionel Scaloni for the friendlies against Panama and Curaçao on 23 and 28 March. And in it, together with other young people, there are the ‘Spanish’ Alejandro Garnacho, 18, and Emi Buendía, 26, Aston Villa forward.

While Spain recruits Argentinean Chimy Ávila and Frenchman Robin Le Normand For the cause, Argentina did the reverse process and called two players who had come to play with the inferiors of La Roja.

Garnacho was born, in fact, in Madrid and was at Getafe until, in 2015, he signed for Atlético de Madrid. Then in September 2020 he moved up to the Manchester United youth academy. In the national team, Garnacho was called up in 2018 for the Spain Under-17, a country with which he played until 2020.

Emi Buendía, for her part, emigrated from her native Argentina to Real Madrid aged 11 years. After two years there, he joined Getafe himself and was called up for several friendlies with the Spain U19 side. Soon after, Argentina recruited him for their U20 side… until now.
