The queen of Twitter clapbacks, Ginger Zee, has teased working on a book featuring some of her best jokes.
ABC’s chief meteorologist, 42, is no stranger to trading barbs with Twitter trolls, especially when they attack her looks, age or professional credibility.
After a recent interaction with one such armchair expert, her weather forecaster, Ryan Vaughan, suggested creating a book of some of her best replies.
It all started when a Twitter user criticized Zee’s yellow mustard outfit in Wednesday’s Good morning America.
“Ginger love you but losing whoever picked the yellow Annie Hall look for you should be ignored going forward,” the viewer wrote, adding, “It looks awful you’re coming out of that.” Dragged to bed before you could put something nice together to wear. I like different looks but this one doesn’t work.”
Zee retweeted the comment, adding a photo of said outfit as she posed for author celebrity chef Ronnie Woo, 38, while holding up a copy of his latest book. Have you eaten yet?
In the picture, Zee wore a long white shirt under a yellow cardigan, wide trousers and nude pumps. Her normally dark hair appeared to have been lightened.
She wrote in the retweet in response to the original comment: “Ha! I said the same thing that it was Annie Hall-esque, but I liked it. Thank you for your opinion and have a nice day.”
In response to her tweet, Vaughan wrote that he couldn’t believe the comment and suggested a lucrative way for Zee to take advantage of the “haters.”
“Oh my goodness… who are these people? You should make an illustrated book called Haters and just print out all your blurbs,” he said told Zee.
Then she dropped a bombshell and revealed that she had already been working on it.
“It’s in the works,” Zee replied, adding a winking emoji.
Her fans loved the cheeky comment, with one even writing, “I would totally read that.”
One of Zee’s most recent setbacks came when she cleared up any confusion over whether she lied about giving the weather forecast during a snowstorm in Albany, New York.
“More drama and lies!! @Ginger_Zee just said Albany NY will get 12+ inches of snow. The three Albany television networks, including an ABC affiliate, are all calling for an 8-12 maximum in Albany,” one angry viewer tweeted.
Zee shot back: “Sorry for the confusion – Albany definitely 8-12″ … I’m actually coming to report it from Albany so maybe you can stop by and say hello to meet the person who doesn’t like drama – see you soon !”
